Chikara Uemizutaru — Composer / Pianist
作曲家、ピアニスト。1990年生まれ。東京藝術大学音楽学部音楽環境創造科、同修士課程を経て、同大学院博士後期課程音楽文化学専攻音楽音響創造研究分野を修了。博士号を取得。音楽制作を西岡龍彦、香取良彦両氏に師事。
映像解釈とその展開に沿った音楽表現を得意とし、作品から物語性を引き出すスコアリングに国内外から定評がある。
企業CMやイベントのための音楽、劇伴から22.2マルチチャンネル音響システムのための音楽作品まで広範に及び手掛け、これまでにミスタードーナツ、KIRIN、LUMINE、資生堂をはじめとする企業CM音楽や、TVドラマでの劇中曲をプロデュース、制作。テレビ東京「シナぷしゅ」など子ども向け番組の楽曲も手掛ける。またトクマルシューゴ氏とコンポーザー・ピアニスト、アレンジャーとして共作共演し好評を博すなど、活躍の場は多岐に渡る。
一方で《トムとジェリー》シリーズの作曲家スコット・ブラッドリーを研究し博士号を取得。Eテレ「ららら♪クラシック」にゲストとして出演するなど研究者としての一面も持つ。
代表作に《NHK Eテレオープニング・クロージング映像》（2021）、《第72回NHK紅白歌合戦オープニングムービー》（2021）、《うたう！おどる！チルタリス！》（POKÉTOON／2026）、《映画ちいかわ 人魚の島のひみつ》（2026）等。
Composer and pianist, born in 1990. Chikara Uemizutaru studied at the Department of Musical Creativity and the Environment, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts, went on to its master’s program, and completed the doctoral program at the Graduate School of Music (Musicology and Music Studies, Creativity of Music and Sound), earning his Ph.D. He studied music production with Tatsuhiko Nishioka and Yoshihiko Katori.
His strength lies in reading the picture and shaping music around how it unfolds, and his scoring, which draws out the narrative of each work, is well regarded in Japan and abroad.
His work ranges widely, from music for commercials and events and film/TV scores to pieces for the 22.2 multichannel sound system. He has produced music for commercials for companies including Mister Donut, KIRIN, LUMINE and Shiseido, as well as music for TV dramas, and writes songs for children’s programs such as TV Tokyo’s “Synapusyu.” He has also co-written and performed with Shugo Tokumaru as a composer, pianist and arranger.
He also earned his doctorate researching Scott Bradley, composer of the Tom and Jerry series, and has appeared as a guest on NHK E-Tele’s “Lalala♪ Classic,” reflecting his work as a researcher.
